Soil Moisture Simulation using Precipitation Data
This is a monthly gridded soil moisture data set (50th percentile) along with 90% confidence Interval (5th and 95th percentile confidence bands), derived through a copula-based simulation model using monthly precipitation data set. The simulation is done by Sarit Kumar Das using MATLAB (version 2014a)in April, 2015. The key features of this gridded soil moisture are given below:
Variable Name: SM
Timeline: January, 1991 to December, 2010
Time interval: Monthly
Grid size: 0.5 deg. latitude by 0.5 deg. longitude
Grid initial: 37.5 deg. N. Latitude, 68.0 deg. E. Longitude
Grid final: 8.0 deg. N. Latitude, 97.5 deg. E. Longitude
Input data source: TS 3.22 data set for precipitation obtained from Climate Research Unit (CRU) and East Anglia, UK
Grid type: a value represent a cell
