In this thesis, filtration on charged fibrous particle is studied. The aim was to calculate the collection efficiency of a real filter and its dependence on surface charge density of the fibers and particle size. To achieve this goal, the most important aspect was to study the influence of the electric field produced by the fibers on the particle deposition. It is observed that the filtration efficiency is greatly affected by the nature of airflow through the filter.
