Research : The main theme of my research career has been the study of various kinds of numerical modeling and diagnosis of atmospheric and oceanic processes starting from seasonal to interannual and global to regional scale. Because of working on different numerical models [ IITD-CGCM ( Indian Institute of Technology Ocean General Circulation Model, MOM-3 ( Modular Ocean Model, Versian-3 ), FrAM- 1( Frontier Atmospheric Model ) FSU-AGCM (Florida state University Atmospheric General Circulation Model ), FSU-RSM (Florida State University Atmospheric General Circulation Model ), FSU-RSM (Florida State University Coupled General Circulation Model ), UTCM ( University of Tokyo Community Model ) and MM5 ] , I have a strong back ground on numerical modeling . During my doctoral thesis I developed 3-D ocean General Circulation Model from scratch . I worked in Filorida State University Coupled Atmosphere- Ocean General Circulation Model. I also worked there on regional modeling over North American and Asian Summer Monsoon . At the University of Tokyo I have developed the interface for coupling the Atmospheric Model ( FrAM -1) and Ocean Model (MOM_3) and worked for the improvement of UTCM . In this Background on coupled modeling will help to carry out independent research on climate variability in seasonal and interannual time-scale. These backgrounds certainly help to study seasonal climate variability's (North American Monsoon , Indian Monsoon, winter Precipitation over India and Middle East ).I worked on MM5 to the modeling on marine coastal Processes and tropical cyclones. At present I am developing feature based Bay-of-Bengal Ocean Circulation Prediction Model. Research Areas :
